How to Remain Motivated at Work Despite Challenges

For most people, work is a routine. Whether you like it or not, you’ll have to go work and clock in day by day. Combined with the tough challenges and issues that you have to face on a daily basis, going to work may, at times, become a daunting task.
So how do you remain motivated despite the challenges that you encounter in the workplace? Read on to find out.
Consciously maintain a positive disposition
It all begins with your attitude. Naturally, if you’re surrounded by negative vibes, you won’t be motivated to work. If you feel like you’re turning into a negative person, labanan mo! Read articles on positivity or talk with people (outside work) who you feel may have a positive impact on your attitude.
Give yourself a pat on the back
Celebrate small victories and accomplishments. Consistent, small accomplishments are what big victories are made of. Why not treat yourself to a nice meal at a fancy restaurant? Or buy yourself something you like? It doesn’t have to be expensive, just something to give you a boost for the next set of tasks.
Learn from someone who is more experienced or who has already been through what you are going through. Some people turn to self-help books and make the authors their virtual mentors. A mentor can also be a friend who you look up to or even a teacher from before. Find yourself a mentor who can guide you in your work journey.
Aside from making you look good and feel great, exercise also helps relieve the stress that you are feeling at work. According to Mayo Clinic ,
“Virtually any form of exercise, from aerobics to yoga, can act as a stress reliever. If you’re not an athlete or even if you’re out of shape, you can still make a little exercise go a long way toward stress management.”
Have a goal in mind, write it down, and update it
Whether it’s getting promoted, developing a set of skills, or knowledge in a certain area, think of a goal and break it down to micro-goals. Ask yourself. What do I have to do today to achieve my goal? What do I need to do this week to achieve my goal. Give yourself a pat on the back if you are able to achieve this goal. If not, strategize and think of ways to achieve them.
Here are things that can help you keep that fire burning at work. It is hard to be motivated all the time, but that’s the stuff that great people are made of. Some people stop or give-up while they are in the middle of the fight. Sayang naman kasi, lumapit ka na, tumigil ka pa.
Don’t forget to rest!
Make sure you take some time to rest and recharge your batteries. Don’t burn yourself out by not sleeping enough or at all. Besides, if you lack sleep, you won’t be that productive or alert anyway. Baka mali pa magawa mo, so rest muna!
As the saying goes, kapit lang! Remember that there will be great days, and then there will be days that you would feel like giving up. Keep fighting! It builds character.
